Case Study: INCITO Office Interiors

INCITO offer full refurbishment, interior design and fit out services all around the UK but mainly in and around Yorkshire – Leeds, Sheffield and York.

The owner, Jonathan, contacted us to organise a brand new website for the company to showcase past refurbishments and to give information on their services.

The new website would be clean, fresh and appealing and with a ‘corporate’ style. The site would need to showcase photography of previous works completed and also examples of the various services on offer, including movable wall installation, reception desks, boardrooms and office storage.

Finally the site would need to feature a fairly comprehensive contact section with a map of the INCITO main office and contact form for direct messages.

The INCITO logo had been designed and created a number of years ago and the source files were no longer available. As part of our graphic design services we recreated the existing logo from scratch in a format suitable for printing so Jonathan could have new stationery made.

Design & Build

As per the brief we created a design that was bright, modern and fresh with a lively colour scheme including the strong orange from the INCITO logo and a rich green and blue.

The main background of the site uses a repeating pattern and faint ‘grunge’ noise texture that is reminiscent of concrete – all meant to lend to the corporate ‘officey’ feel.

The INCITO logo uses a strong square white border so we carried this through the design using it on images and throughout the main slideshow.

The main imagery of the site form a wide banner slideshow with an adaptive width – no matter how big or small your screen the slides will always reach the edges. This makes the site seem larger, wider and in this design adds to the breathing room. Finally we overlaid the slideshow with a grid of robust white squares, which frame parts of each slideshow image and allow you to focus on the finer details of the offices in the photos.

This main slideshow is designed for maximum impact on the home (landing) page so visitors are immediately struck by the imagery on display. The slideshow then reduces in size on all other pages to allow the rest of the content to take centre stage.

Photos on the Services and Projects sections were made into squares to continue the strong blocky theme of the site. The Projects section also includes ‘before’ shots of the offices which makes for a satisfying ‘before and after’ series of images.

The photographs supplied were of varying quality – some, particularly the ‘before’ photos taken in poor light in offices that were essentially building sites. As such we used Photoshop adjustments to affect the colours and sharpen a lot of the images.

The Contact page uses an embedded Google map to make it easier to find the INCITO office and a contact form alongside for direct messages. We added automated validation into the form to make sure visitors filled in all required fields and also to check whether or not the email address they supply is valid. This should help cut down on spam and bogus enquiries.
