Content management

Adding a content management system to your website enables you to have complete control over the content. Websites built using CMS are a little more sophisticated than static websites and so they cost a little more to produce. Here’s what most CMS will allow you to do:

• Edit page text
  This allows you to update any page content whenever you need to. You’ll also be able to choose how your content is styled, using headings, colours and controlling the formatting (bold, italic, etc).
• Create links
  Add links to your content to enable visitors to use resources, visit other websites and find pages on your own site more easily.
• Add images
  An image uploader ensures that your site has up-to-date visual content that attracts the eye and demonstrates your products or services in a more attractive way.
• Add/remove pages
  Add and remove whole sections of the website whenever you need to.

Systems we use

We frequently use two content management systems (though we do have experience with a variety of other popular editors):

WordPress

Wordpress is now the most widely-used CMS on the web, supporting a huge number of websites. We use this platform due to its stable, accessible code and its extensive library of plug-ins and add-ons.

Cybermill webapp

Our own custom-built content management system is based around the system built for photographers by Phosys. The Webapp allows complete access to page content on your website as well as a sophisticated image uploader which resizes photos for you automatically.
